About Me.

Welcome! I am a newly graduated lawyer awaiting results from the July 2024 Bar Exam. As you will see below, I have a diverse resume. Between earning a B.A. and a J.D., I worked in a variety of industries, sometimes internationally, and participated in multiple extracurriculars to bolster my academic interests. At the end of the day, I have a variety of interests, but my true passions are human rights and fashion. What I am still trying to figure out is how to put the two together...

Upon acceptance to NELB, I received a full tuition scholarship and was admitted to the Sandra Day O'Connor Honors Program. During my career at NELB, I was elected to the executive boards of the Art & Fashion Law Society and the Student Bar Association. I also participated in the Operational-level Grievance Mechanism Research Project, wherein I researched mid-level and large corporations’ compliance with international human rights policies and contributed objective data analysis to a public database of business operations information. I graduated with a J.D. from New England Law in May 2024, with concentrations in both Public Interest Law and International Law.

During my 2L summer I was admitted to the NELB Study Abroad Program in Galway, Ireland at NUIG. I took courses in Human Rights and Human Trafficking. Please see my portfolio for some of my written work in these classes.

I attended James Madison University from 2016 to 2020. There I pursued a degree in Journalism in the School of Media Arts and Design, in which I took a variety of courses, including video production, photo editing, journalistic writing, journalism history, and website design. I also obtained a minor in Spanish Language. During my four years at JMU I participated in a variety of extracurriculars. On top of my coursework, I also interned at M Industry London, a South Kensington-based boutique handbag company.

As a student attorney I wore many hats. My responsibilities included facilitating client communication and intake interviews, and conducting legal research surrounding client issues. My clients had a range of legal problems, including summary process, consumer debt, and small claims. I also had the opportunity to represent clients at court hearings and negotiate with opposing counsel outside of court. On the administrative side, I drafted various legal documents, including Motions to Dismiss, Opposition Memoranda, and settlement negotiations.

I created discovery logs for ongoing litigation; conducted legal research surrounding current environmental legislation; and contributed data and analytical research to novel methods of energy burden assessment.

Legal Services Intern

During my 1L Summer, I had the opportunity to intern with the Elder Housing Division of GBLS. I worked on a team of student interns on summary process cases affecting elder clients. My other duties included assisting in the creation of a guide for clients to use when filling out RAFT applications; conducting extensive legal research and writing on various housing issues, and drafting summaries and answers for different clients.

Marketing Associate

In this full-time role, I worked with a diverse group of international scientists, executives, and creatives at various organizational levels. I managed all social media platforms and created all outward-facing marketing materials. I led the redesign of the official MicroGEM website, and I managed the company's participation in virtual biotechnology conferences, which required me to interact with companies at an international level, manage complicated remote technology, and design engaging virtual displays to draw consumers to our product line in spite of COVID restrictions.

Founder

I created my own small start-up fashion company based out of my dorm room. I re-work thrifted denim jackets, jeans and shorts and sell them through Instagram and my official website. Within the first week of the company being in business, I sold out of all my stock and gained a quick following on social media. What started as a creative way to make money became a successful business to help me express my creativity during the stress of undergrad. I ultimately closed the doors on FSD when I decided to attend law school.

During my senior year at JMU, I had the opportunity to work on two different school-run magazines: Curio and Madison 101. As a senior editor, I reported on JMU news and curated feature and listicle articles for the magazine.

I worked as an intern with the Office of Alumni Relations at JMU. I joined the marketing team to organize social media posts and help with promotional work online. My duties  in this role included managing all social media accounts using Falcon, and creating marketing graphics and visuals with Adobe Suites.

During the summer between my junior and senior years of undergrad, I obtained an internship at a popular shoe company. As a production intern, I was involved in the creation of each shoe from the design stage to final production. I also regularly liaised with factory managers in South East Asia and participated in meetings with industry professionals at all organizational levels.

While studying abroad in London, I was accepted to the James Madison University internship abroad program. I had the opportunity to intern at a boutique handbag company in South Kensington. In this position, I managed social media for the brand, assisted in manufacture of unique, one-of-a-kind handbags, and generally interfaced with colleagues and customers from various geographical backgrounds and organizational levels.

During the summer between my sophomore and junior year of undergrad, I obtained an internship at a well-known shoe conglomerate. At the time, Marc Fisher had just acquired Nine West and had 12 other licensed brands. In this dynamic office, I was able to gain experience in all facets of the industry, including client communication, social media, fashion shows, and more.
